The Long Beach Police Athletic
League was organized as a long-term crime prevention program
aimed at juvenile crime, gang violence, and drug activity.
Serving the youth of Long Beach since 1990 as a 501( c )(3)
non-profit organization, PAL has fostered a bond of mutual
trust, respect, and understanding between police officers
and youth through interaction with recreation, education,
and athletic activities.
The
Long Beach Police Athletic League is partnered with the Long
Beach Parks, Recreation, and Marine Department in an affordable
city-wide, after-school and summer program funded by grants
and donations from the community. A PAL membership costs $20
per year and includes nearly all costs associated with PAL
programs. Additional costs may apply for activities in partnership
with other companies or City Departments. PAL serves youth
between the ages of 7 and 17.
